Sports Club SK Krakonos, the Polish Association of Sleddog Sports and MC Metuje Club feel honored to invite you to the stage race “Vetamix Tour 2009”. It is an eight-stage race with about 30 km long trails. The main sponsor is Vetamix Co., s.r.o. that donates prizes. A special award will be presented to the best pure breeed teams in each class. The race is planned so that only a week holiday is needed for each of the participants. The race will be run in two places (Strazne, Karpacz) having four stages each. The winners will be announced after each race on the spot and at the end of the competition, there will be final winners’ announcement.
Each place of race is entered in the race calendar as an individual race and each of the races will become a part of the ESDRA CUP serial and so each participant who has completed the Vetamix Tour race will receive points in the European Cup from two races. Except these partial divisions, the race is considered a complex stage race.

First Part – Strazne (VETAMIX TRAIL)
Stage 1: 4 January 2009 – start at 19.00 in Strazne, finish in Strazne, total 24 km.
Route: Strazne, Tetrevi Boudy, around Rejdiste and then back along the same route to Strazne.
Stage 2: 5 January 2009 – start at 8.00 in Strazne, finish in Strazne, total 24 km.
Route: Strazne, Tetrevi Boudy, around Rejdiste and then back along the same route to Strazne.
Stage 3: 6 January 2009 – start at 8.00 in Strazne, finish in Strazne, total 34 km.
Route: Strazne, Predni planina, around mountain Struhadlo and then back along the same route to Strazne.
Stage 4: 7 January 2009 – start at 8.00 in Strazne, finish in Strazne, total 24 km.
Route: Strazne, Tetrevi Boudy, around Rejdiste and then back along the same route to Strazne.

Presentation: 4 January from 15.00 to 17.00 at Hribeci Bouda (cca 800m from stake-out).
Car park and stakeout: Strazné : upper half of car park in Strazne-Lom. Toilets at Hribeci Bouda and mobile toilets at the car park, water in pension Schlitz near car park are at your disposal.
Karpacz: area near start/meta , close to Stokrotka Hotel .
The dogs are not allowed to stay at the stakeout in the open air without supervision.

Veterinary requirements: Pet passport with obligatory vaccinations, microchip or tattooing.
Obligatory veterinary check up of dogs in Strazne on Sunday January 4, 2009 from 17.00 to 18.00,
in Karpacz on Wednesday January 7, 2009 from 16.00 to 19.00.
Access road to Strazne: From Vrchlabi for Spindleruv Mlyn, in Horni Vrchlabi to the right in the direction of Strazne. In Strazne follow the road signs. The snow chains are recommended.

Musher meeting: obligatory before race and after each stage
Equipment:
Obligatory eq.: according to ESDRA Race Rules and forehead torch with minimum lighting time of 3 hours
Recommended equipment:
Boots for dogs, blankets for dogs, spare lines, spare spring hooks, spare harnesses, stakeout, …..
Besides the obligatory equipment the musher shall have everything necessary according to specific characteristics of his dogs (sparse fur, sensitive paws, dogs biting lines, etc.), so that the dogs did not suffer, could not run away or other undesirable events could not come up.
! Warning ! :
The mushers shall obey the organizer’s instructions, respect visitor rules of the KRNAP (The Giant Mountains National Park) and should behave themselves so as not to impair the good reputation of mushing.
Free running of dogs around the race area is not allowed.
The dogs shall have microchip or tattooing.
Minimum age of dogs shall be 18 month.
Minimum age of racer shall be 18 years, in the race can take part also 16 years old racer with parent´s agreement
The dogs’ owners are liable for all the damage caused by their dogs.
The racers start at their own risk.
